Welcome to Better Call Steve Driving School

Stephen is an RSA Approved Driving Instructor with close on 30 years driving experience behind him. 

It was back in the mid-90's when Stephen first discovered he had a knack for teaching. Having ventured to northern Spain with his now-wife, Stephen taught English to Spanish students for 3 years in Language Academies in Bilbao before eventually answering the call of the Celtic Tiger & returning to Ireland as the millennium approached.

When Stephen was made redundant at the beginning of 2025 having spent 27 years working in finance within the construction industry, his instincts immediately steered him back to the teaching profession that he had enjoyed so much in his previous life. Having successfully taught all his own family how to drive in the meantime, he followed his instincts and set about becoming an Approved Driving Instructor with the RSA, successfully qualifying in October 2025.

Stephen believes his calm demeanour and patient approach combined with his in-depth knowledge of what is required to become a safe & responsible driver will deliver strong results for anyone who chooses to do lessons with him, whether they be those doing the mandatory EDT sessions, pre-tests or simply those looking to refresh their driving skills for one reason or another. Stephen is ready & eager to impart his knowledge & skills with you!
